Website Visitor Protection

United Way of Kern County recognizes the importance of protecting information we may collect from visitors to our site. Our policy is to use the information we acquire from visitors to our sites for internal purposes only, and we maintain appropriate security measures to keep this information private.

Users can visit the site without revealing any information about themselves. Your browser, however, does automatically tell us the type of computer and operating system you are using. Information About Your Computer and Your Site Activities

United Way of Kern County routinely obtains information from businesses, their employees, nonprofit agencies and from individuals. Credit Cards and Online Checks

United Way of Kern County accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club and online checks via PayPal (see below). All credit card and check donations, payments and orders are subject to credit verification and approval. For your protection, any orders shipped to an address other than your billing address may require additional verification.

To help ensure the confidentiality of your personal credit card or bank information United Way of Kern County uses PayPal's services which has in place one of the worlds best security technology and procedures. PayPal uses encryption technologies and Secure Socket Layers (“SSL”) in all areas where your personal credit card or bank account information is required. This means that the personal credit card or online check information you submit for payment via PayPal’s secure site is encrypted by your computer, and then decrypted at PayPal's secure site, discouraging others from accessing your private information during transmission. Please read privacy and security policies on PayPal's site. If your browser does not support SSL, or if you are unable to establish a secure connection due to a company firewall, please call us at (661) 834-1820 to make a payment or donation by phone.

Personal and Business Check

United Way of Kern County will accept personal and business checks for donations, payments and prepay orders. Allow for 10 business days for clearing on top of delivery time of check to our business. You may also mail in certified checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks for donations or payments.
