Financial Resources for Low Income and Immigrant Families in the Central Valley

January 31 @ 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Low income families, especially immigrants, are the target of unprecedented federal actions that threaten their economic security in the short and long term.

The California Reinvestment Coalition, United Ways of California, and the California Asset Building Coalition are proud to provide information about how to connect these families to real money and other resources, safely, to help them prepare for future emergencies or meet present needs, including:

  • Tax refunds like the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC), and Child Care Tax Credit,
  • Federal and state safety net benefits such as food stamps and cash assistance programs like CalWORKs, and,
  • Banking tools to receive refunds and cash assistance safely and without expensive check cashing and overdraft fees.

Experts will provide answer your questions about the value of these resources, eligibility criteria for immigrants and others, and any changes we should expect from executive actions. Join CRC members and allies, United Way affiliates, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) providers, banks, social services agencies, and others to discuss how we can work together to help families secure critical resources safely, even with complicated immigration status.
