Health

United Way of Kern County partners with community advocates, healthcare professionals, business, labor and faith-based leaders, and policy makers to find sustainable solutions to health access issues.

United Way of Kern County focuses it's health efforts on:

  • Increasing access to healthcare
  • Advocating for children's healthcare
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles

United Way of Kern County partners with United Ways of California in advocacy efforts to retain and expandhealth insurance coverage for California's children.

United Way of Kern County's FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Program has saved Kern County residents some $4 million on much-needed medicines. With the FamilyWize discount card, you can save 20, 30, even 40 percent on the price of prescriptions. If you don't have prescription drug insurance coverage -- or if your benefits are limited -- visit the FamilyWize page and get your card. There are no income limits; no questions to answer; no registration required.

Together we can make our community stronger by ensuring children and families receive the care they need to stay healthy and thrive.
